Creating A Regatta
Steps to create a regatta, configure fleets, and prepare for multi-day event scoring.
Preparation
- Ensure the regatta dates are within an existing Season. If needed, create a Season.
- Know fleets and scoring system (including discard rules).
- Gather competitor registration information (sail number, name, club).
Create the regatta
- From the Club Admin page locate the Regattas section and click New Regatta.
- Provide the regatta name, date range, and any high-level notes. Select the correct scoring system.
- Navigate to the regatta scoring home page by clicking through the Regatta link in the header and clicking on the link for the newly created regatta.
- Create Fleets for the regatta from the Regatta home page. Each fleet will have its own competitor list.
- Add or import competitors into each fleet using the Edit Fleet links on the regatta page.
- Important!>Create new races from the regatta page to auomatically connect them to the correct regatta series and fleet.
Each fleet has its own section on the regatta page, and the Competitors tab includes a button to add or edit the boats and crews assigned to that fleet.
During the event
- Use the regatta page to enter new races. Results for regattas are shown on a single regatta page with a section for each fleet.
- For protests or changes, mark races provisional until resolved then save to trigger recalculation.
- Share the scores at the event with the regatta home page. Most browsers can make a QR Code by right-clicking on a page background. Competitors can use their phone to browse the results.
After the regatta
Review final races, confirm all protests are resolved, then mark races as Completed so series/regatta standings are published without the provisional notice.
